A very full flavoured tea, from the Fujian province of China, with a light amber colour and a very slight nutty aroma. A fine accompaniment to a meal as it is reputed to aid digestion. Multiple infusions are definitely recommended. Ti Kuan Yin is named after the Iron Goddess of Mercy.

Recommendation: Use 2 level teaspoons per cup and steep for 2 minutes in 90°C water

    Ti Kuan Yin Oolong

This is my favourite tea. It can be brewed 3 or 4 times and the taste is different each time. It's important not to use water which is too hot and not to leave it brewing for too long. I find it can take the edge off hunger too which can be useful if you have to spend a lot of time at home near to the biscuits!

    Very enjoyable tea

Lovely refreshing tea. Not as smooth though as Dong Ding, which I prefer, thus the four stars instead of five. And yes I get 2-3 infusions as well with very little degredation in full taste

    Perfect 'everyday' Ti Kuan Yin

Posted by Sharief on 7th Jun 2011

This is perfect Ti Kuan Yin Oolong for drinking throughout the day, with the classic taste this particular tea is known for. Very good value for money - especially when you take into account that you can derive 2-3 infusions while still retaining its unique taste. Recommended!
