Keemun is China's contender for the best breakfast tea, although this mellow example is fine for any time of the day. It has an orange-red colour and is delightful with or without milk. An excellent alternative breakfast tea can be made by blending Keemun with Assam.

Use 1 heaped teaspoon per cup and steep for 3 minutes in just boiled water.

    C'mon Keemun

I bought as a breakfast tea after reading the description but a bit too weak for me in the mornings and I have preferred it in the afternoon. However, only just read other reviews which suggested blending with other teas so I might try that.

    Perfect blended with Formosa Oolong.

Posted by Jeremy on 14th Oct 2015

I've been ordering Formosa Oolong and Keemun from The Teapot (formerly Aurora) for many years. I blend it approximately 70 parts Oolong to 30 parts Keemun by volume. I drink no other tea these days. For me it's the perfect blend - invites multiple infusions, even wet leaves left overnight in the pot are perfectly drinkable the next day - hot or cold depending on my mood ... often I'll top up yesterday's with fresh. Never contaminated with milk or sugar. And it laughs at hard water.

    Everyday tea

A delicious everyday tea, meaning it is certainly good enough to drink every day, especially for breakfast. A lighter version of Yunnan.

    Good aromatic

Aromatic tea with distinct lightly smoky Keemun character. Mellow light tea.

I always try to make sure that I have keemun in the cupboard. This is possibly my favourite tea. I would recommend it.

    Pleasantly smoky

Great for breakfast or add a little rum when coming in after the cold. Not a fan of adding milk.
